About the opportunity

V&A Innovate is an annual National Schools Challenge, asking state-funded English secondary school students in years 7, 8 and 9 to work in teams of 4 – 6 to design a solution to a real-world problem. We're asking students to work in teams to follow a human-centred design process and respond to one of the three challenge themes inspired by V&A collections. For the Innovate 2026 – 27 schools design competition, we're asking students to work in teams to respond to one of the three challenge themes. These can be found on our website from 19th May 2026. After teachers follow the link and enter your school’s information, teachers will be sent a free V&A Innovate poster featuring an item from our collection after registration.
